Some of the teams will look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the ISL season.

As the January winter transfer window for the 2023-24 Indian Super League (ISL) season comes to an end and the league action is set to restart. The League standings currently showcase a competitive landscape, with Kerala Blasters leading the charge at the top of the table with an impressive 26 points from 12 games. Following closely are FC Goa, maintaining an unbeaten streak, securing the second spot with 24 points in 20 games. Odisha FC are not far behind, holding onto the third position with 24 points in 12 games.

The ongoing winter transfer window is poised to bring about significant changes in team dynamics, as clubs strategize to strengthen their squads and address any existing gaps. Fans eagerly await the unveiling of new signings and potential departures, eager to see how these moves will impact their team’s performance in the latter half of the season.

Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC in the summer went through an overhaul in the overseas squad having signed Curtis Main, Keeziah Veendrop among others. Much was expected this time from the Bengaluru-based outfit. Unfortunately, the team started on a wrong note and head coach Simon Grayson was sacked. Gerard Zaragoza was named a replacement and in his two games in charge, BFC won a game and drew the other. However, in order to qualify for playoffs, the Blues need to invest smartly and address the issues within the squad

Departures: Curtis Main

Chennaiyin FC

Chennaiyin FC re-hired former boss Owen Coyle at the helm of the affairs and he was given a decent squad at his disposal. The team’s journey until now has been topsy-turvy as the team hasn’t looked settled. The team has been struggling in midfield and full-back positions and requires a smarter approach and players who can easily settle within the squad.

East Bengal FC

East Bengal has been struggling for goals this season. Foreign players like Javier Siverio and Cleiton Silva haven’t performed as consistently as they would have liked to. Carles Cuadrat would be hoping for a possible foreign striker up front who can get the goals for the Red & Gold Brigade.

Arrivals: Borja Herrera, Mohammad Yasir, Nim Dorjee

The Kolkata Giants have also been plagued with injuries and this has disrupted the dynamics of their squad.
