Kratky also highlighted the difference between the last game and today’s game against East Bengal FC.
Mumbai City FC secured a crucial victory against East Bengal FC at the Salt Lake Stadium, propelled by Iker Guarrotxena’s debut goal. The lone strike sealed the win for Petr Kratky’s squad, lifting them to the 4th spot in the league standings.
Despite a setback against Jamshedpur FC earlier, this triumph injected a much-needed morale boost into the Islanders’ campaign. Kratky, pleased with the result, acknowledged the significance of the win.
Let’s take a look on what head coach Petr Kratky had to convey in the post match press conference:
Changes in the Squad
Last time Mumbai City FC faced East Bengal earlier in the first leg of the season at the Mumbai Football Arena, both teams played out a goalless draw. However, at the Salt Lake Stadium, it was a different scenario. When asked what changes Kratky made for this game, the coach replied,
“Today was very good game from us. First time at home it was a draw. We try to use our strengths and do things better, quicker. We got rewarded today. Also we have Iker today who scored goal. Everything starting to link together and we got rewarded with good football and we win.”
Onto the next match
Mumbai City FC will take on Bengaluru FC on the 18th of February at the Mumbai Football Arena and will be hoping to continue the same momentum with all the players available. Petr Kratky too highlighted the same.
“The boys will be all available now. They are coming from injuries, which is very good, it’s nice headache to have. So now we have to find the best blend for the next game.”
