The Spaniard is very confident that his team will bring out a positive result against the Islanders.
Indian Super League table-toppers ATK will host the struggling Mumbai City at the Salt Lake Stadium on the Friday. Ahead of the game, ATK head coach Antonio Lopez Habas addressed the media speaking about the match. When asked about the challenge against Mumbai City FC, Antonio Habas said, "The target for tomorrow is to win the match. I guess the opponent will also have the same target. I feel it will be a good match and the supporters will be happy." When quizzed about their rare disappointing performance against Odisha FC in the previous game, Habas backed his team. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] "Every match is different, Odisha is a team who play good football. Maybe we did not get the intensity. We cannot win every match. You can try, but it's not possible. The more important part is that we did not lose. But, then again, we wanted three points." Considering ATK's good run of form in the league, Antonio Habas was asked about the chances of qualifying for the playoffs. However, the 62-year-old wanted to focus only on the match against the Islanders for now. "I don't want to get far ahead. But, now the opponents are very important for me and I want my team to play at the highest level." Mumbai City FC have struggled to win matches off late. But Habas feels that they are a good unit and their midfield and attack can be the main areas of concern for his side. "I think their midfield and attack are important areas. They have good players there. I assure you it will be a difficult match for us, because they are very good on the counter-attack," he added. ATK's forward duo of Roy Krishna and David Williams have been by far the most talked about foreign strikeforce in the ISL. However, when asked about the most fabled duo of the league, Antonio Habas chose not to comment. "Both Roy (Krishna) and David (Williams) are important players for me. I don't like to select and compliment one player. I want to talk about the team." Anas Edathodika who accompanied Antonio Lopez Habas to the pre-match press conference also spoke to the media. The India international spoke about young Indian defenders coming through the ranks, like the 18-year-old Sumit Rathi. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] "I never feel bad if a young player plays in my place. If he gets a chance ahead of me, then I might be doing something wrong," Anas opined. The former Kerala Blasters man concluded the proceedings speaking about how younger players are important for Indian football and how he does everything in his power to develop them. "I always like to help younger talents. They are the future of Indian football. We will have to retire at some point and they will take the baton eventually."Latest News
