Novak Djokovic surpassed Nenad Zimonjic for most caps for Serbia in Davis Cup

Novak Djokovic has added another feather to his cap by becoming the Serbian player with the most Davis Cup matches won – 44, including singles and doubles. The world number one achieved this feat by defeating Cameron Norrie of Great Britain in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup Finals 2023.

Djokovic’s victory over Norrie was his 44th overall in the competition, surpassing his compatriot and former doubles partner Nenad Zimonjic, who had 43 wins. The Serbian also extended his unbeaten streak in singles to 21 matches, dating back to 2011.

The current world no.1 has been the driving force behind Serbia’s success in the Davis Cup, leading them to their first and only title in 2010, when he beat Gael Monfils in the decisive fifth rubber against France in Belgrade.
