Will Roman Reigns be dethroned at WWE WrestleMania 40?
Roman Reigns returned to WWE after a long hiatus in 2020 and has been having a career redefining run with an undefeated Universal Championship reign. On this run, Reigns became the greater heel, developed his own heel faction with his cousins “The Bloodline”, aligned with Paul Heyman and had a historical reign.
Reigns recently reached a huge milestone with his holding the WWE Universal Championship for more than 1250 days after defending his championship against Randy Orton, LA Knight and AJ Styles in a Fatal 4-way match. As Reigns became one of the toughest guys to be defeated, however a latest report suggests that Roman Reigns would likely be dethroned at WrestleMania 40.
Roman Reigns to lose the title at WrestleMania 40
According to The WrestlingBlog’s latest report, there is a great support for the idea of Roman losing the title at WrestleMania 40. The actual feeling is that a lot of rivalries that WWE has been planning for Roman Reigns doesn’t want to continue with Reigns taking the title forward.
WrestleBlog reports,
“There’s a good amount of support for the idea of Roman Reigns losing the title at WrestleMania 40, as the feeling is that a lot of the rivalries that WWE has left for Roman Reigns don’t need the title moving forward.”
There is also a speculation among the WWE fans that Reigns could still hold the title and surpass Hulk Hogan’s title reign and have the second-longest title reign in WWE after Bruno Sammartino.
Cody Rhodes after winning the 2024 Royal Rumble pointed his finger towards Roman Reigns teasing a rematch at WrestleMania 40. However, he has not made his decision yet, after Seth Rollins’ confrontation last week. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are scheduled for SmackDown this week and it is expected to be a heated segment of a potential WrestleMania 40 match.
