Sami Zayn retains IC Title at WWE Clash at the Castle 2024

Chad Gable played his mind games but can’t win.

At WWE Clash at the Castle 2024, Sami Zayn defended his Intercontinental Championship in a rematch with Chad Gable. After Zayn defeated Gable in the last round of a Gauntlet Match to face Gunther at WrestleMania, Master Gable coached the determined challenger to help him end the longest Intercontinental Title reign in WWE history.

In exchange, Zayn promised Gable a title opportunity. When Sami emerged triumphant in Montreal, Gable snapped and launched a violent attack on the champion. In view of the increasing feud between these two, a singles match was organized between the two for the IC Title in Clash at the Castle 2024.

Sami Zayn retains with few ups and downs

Chad Gable came into the match as the first guy getting into the ring alongside The Alpha Academy. Then came the Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn making his way to the ring. The fans were all into Zayn’s entrance.

Both men started the match with some wrestling. Chad Gable had a fire in his eyes. But Sami was no less. Both men kept fighting in the center of the ring and showed their technical in-ring prowess.

Both men kept having a very technical match with each other as both men kept countering each other. But Chad Gable started gaining the momentum. But, Sami Zayn countered with a clothesline sending Chad Gable over the top rope.

Sami Zayn kept gaining momentum but as Sami Zayn tried to pull a high-flying move, Gable countered with a drop kick again getting control of the match. As Gable tried to hit a German Suplex on Sami Zayn, he countered and hit Gable with a suplex. But, Gable had already damaged the left hand of Sami Zayn and later hit him with a powerbomb and a flying headbutt.

Gable then hit Zayn with two consecutive German Suplex but Sami Zayn countered with his own German Suplex. Gable and Zayn kept countering until Zayn caught Gable hitting him with another suplex. But Gable was kicked out of 2.

Both men then started trading blows and Gable put Sami Zayn in a cross-face submission lock but Zayn counters. But, it wasn’t enough as Gable countered it into an ankle lock. Zayn somehow rolled Gable into a pin but Gable kicked out. Gable looked more pissed.

Gable then gave the IC title to Maxine but she failed to hit Sami with the chance she had. As Gable tried explaining to Maxine again but with the distraction Zayn went for a helluva kick which almost hit Maxine. As Gable lost it on Maxine Otis stood up for her. But in this chaos, Gable took the chance to take out Zayn. But, Zayn countered as he threw Gable into the turnbuckle and prepared for a helluva kick, but Gable got out of the ring in time.

As, Sami Zayn countered the ankle lock, Gable by mistake hit Maxine, which made Otis leave with Maxine. It helps Zayn hit Gable with a Helluva Kick ending the match.
