We're not friends, says Kevin Owens on CM Punk: WWE

Kevin Owens says that he has “no reason to talk” with the Second City Saint!

Kevin Owens is all set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the WWE Bash in Berlin 2024. This is the first time Owens is facing Cody Rhodes one-on-one in WWE, although both have a long history together with both standing on the same page.

Ahead of the title match, Owens recently appeared for an interview where he addressed his relationship with WWE stars and especially with the second city saint CM Punk.

Kevin Owens recently appeared for an interview with The Daily Mail ahead of his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at Bash in Berlin. During the interview, the Prizefighter was asked about his relationship with CM Punk. To which Owens replied that they never talked and they didn’t have reasons to get connected. However, Owens said that they will talk when they work together, but he doesn’t usually talk with Punk.

Kevin Owens on CM Punk said,

“We never talk. We have no reason to talk. We’re not friends. We’re not, we don’t, you know, we’re just not, I don’t know. We have no reason to talk. If we work together, we will talk, but just not a thing we do.”

It is worth noting that backstage rumors last year revealed that Kevin Owens and CM Punk already had a scrapped plan of having a match for WrestleMania 39 when Punk tried to negotiate with the company for his WWE return during the 2023 Royal Rumble season. However that didn’t happen, as Punk was contracted to AEW. Punk then made his return at Survivor Series 2023, after the controversial release from AEW and shocking the WWE universe.

Owens also commented on Punk’s return last year saying he is looking forward to having a lot of fun at work with CM Punk, if he has the same mindset in him.

Owens said,

“I just wanna have fun at work, so if he’s got that mindset, great.”
