The Blue and Yellow will go into this game as favourites.

Romania and Ukraine, fierce opponents in Group E, will officially begin their Euro 2024 campaigns on Monday afternoon in Munich.

A revitalised Romanian team travels to Germany as the winners of their qualifying group for the first professional match between the two countries, while their opponents advanced via the playoffs.

Three key battles that may decide Romania vs Ukraine Euro 2024 clash

3. Andrei Ratiu vs Mykhaylo Mudryk

Although Mudryk could never match up to the $100 million price tag associated with his January 2023 transfer to Chelsea, the winger did show promise in his first full Premier League campaign. At the Euros, he will get the chance to alter the course of events in his first big competition. In the qualification playoff final, the 23-year-old scored the game-winning goal against Iceland to guarantee Ukraine’s place in Euro 2024.

The intention of Andrei Ratiu, the right-back who will be playing, is to alleviate the threat that Chelsea’s top player Mudryk poses to Romania.

2. Ianis Hagi vs Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko plays central midfield on the left flank for his native Ukraine. Many thought Zinchenko might play midfield for Arsenal because he began his career as a No. 10 and has long been an effective midfield player for Ukraine. He is expected to be one of Ukraine’s key players in the Euros.

Ianis Hagi of Romania will be his opponent as a midfielder. Hagi will have a difficult job ahead of him to contain Zinchenko, prevent him from rising and utilise his vision to take advantage of Romania’s defence.

1. Artem Dovbyk vs Radu Dragusin

The 26-year-old helped guarantee their spot in this summer’s competition by scoring a late winner in the March Euro 2024 qualifying play-off match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Artem Dovbyk will get the chance to demonstrate his skills as one of the most dominant central strikers in European football at Euro 2024.

A crucial component of Romania’s defence at Euro 2024 will be Radu Dragusin. The 22-year-old centre-back hasn’t played much since joining Tottenham in January. Dragusin is a young player, but his strength, ferocity and aerial skill make him a valuable asset for them.
