Erik ten Hag will be hoping to avenge last year’s defeat

Manchester United have a great chance to make their entry into the UEFA Europa League group stage next season as the winners of the FA Cup get a chance directly in the competition. Having finished the recently concluded season in eight positions, Erik ten Hag has a brilliant opportunity to finish the season strong.

They will meet for the second time after facing each other last season. Manchester City eventually won the trophy and won the famous treble. Ten Hag is already under enormous pressure, so this is sure to be a make or break relationship.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK: Andre Onana

The Cameroonian international is yet to show his best form for the club since signing for them this summer. While he has faced plenty of criticism for conceding goals, he has also contributed to the side’s wins, which are often overlooked.

With 38 appearances and 9 clean sheets, he has developed into a complete goalkeeper. He is equally adept at distributing the ball and is comfortable with the ball at his feet.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one of the most effective one-on-one defenders in the league because he is strong in the tackle and also uses his speed to prevent the opposition from creating or scoring any chances.

Even though he has not performed at his best this season, he has still made 29 appearances and provided 3 assists for his team. Because he will be facing Doku in this match, he will have to be on his toes, as his trickery and pace has tormented the opposition. This battle will determine the match’s outcome.

CB: Raphaël Varane

Varane has already announced that he will be leaving the club after failing to reach a contract extension in the summer. This trophy would be an ideal way to say goodbye to his teammates and fans. The injury has hampered his season, but he still made 29 appearances.

Having played in a number of finals as well as winning one, he brings a lot of experience to the team. It will be up to him to negate the threat posed by Haaland, who has once again been in impressive form.

CB: Lisandro Martinez

This is a crucial match for the team, and he has just returned from injury at the right time. Before he got injured, he was one of the most impressive members of the team. Due to his aggression, his teammates have been driven to give their best to the team. The team lost him after just 13 appearances from him this season. In order to limit the threat posed by the City’s attack, he must perform at his best.

LB: Diogo Dalot

He has been consistent with his performances this term, notching up three goals and five assists in all competitions. Diogo Dalot is having an incredible season and is one of the few players who could be satisfied with their performance.

Eik ten Hag has given him a lot of freedom to run behind the defence while also doing his part in defence. Phil Foden, who won the player of the season just recently, will be one of the most important players on the team.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo

This latest prodigy from the youth setup has established himself as an important member of the ten Hag’s team. As one of the team’s best players despite being 19 years old, he has also earned a spot in the England squad.

He is likely to make the Euros squad because of his performances. In the past season, he has made 31 appearances for the team, scoring four goals and assisting another. As a calm and composed player on the ball, he brings a degree of composure to the team’s midfield.

CM: Casemiro

Since his performances have been lacking confidence lately, the Brazilian international has received criticism for them. This season ten Hag has relied on him as a center back due to injuries to other players. In addition to scoring five goals, Casemiro has also contributed three assists. After winning a number of finals, he will serve as a key shield for the defence.

LW: Alejandro Garnacho

It has been Alejandro Garnacho who has been the team’s main man this season. With his pace and trickery, he has looked a threat from the left wing for the team, taking on defenders to create opportunities for others. He has scored some sensational goals also with the bicycle kick among the best goals you’ll see in history. He has scored nine goals and added five assists in his season.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes has scored 15 goals and assisted another 12 this season. One of the few players who can be happy with their performance is him. With his vision and creativity, he creates the opportunities for the team as well as adding goals, which makes him the main architect of the team. After taking on the role of captain of the team on a full-time basis, he now has the opportunity to win his first trophy.

RW: Amad Diallo

This youngster has taken advantage of his chance perfectly to earn his spot in the squad. In 12 appearances for the team, he has scored two goals, most of which came from the bench. In his first full start against Newcastle, he scored a brace, proving his trustworthiness to ten Hag, who has shown his intent to give him the chance to play an important part.

ST: Rasmus Højlund

It seems that the Denmark international has finally found his rhythm in United colours. He was one of the best forwards at the back end of the season. With 16 goals already scored in all competitions in his debut season at Manchester United, he looks set to play a crucial role in the future. His pace and physicality allow him to dominate opponents, as well as hold up play.
