Serbian Novak Djokovic is an impressive 10-0 in Australian Open finals.

It has been a record-breaking week at Australian Open 2025 as the season’s first Grand Slam heads into its second week. The men’s draw in Melbourne has thrown up some interesting numbers.

Alexander Zverev has drawn level with Tommy Haas (105) for the second-most wins in Grand Slam men’s singles among Germans in Open Era, trailing Boris Becker (153). Carlos Alcaraz (64) is second best for most Grand Slam wins from 75 matches after John McEnroe (65). Jannik Sinner, on claiming his 64th singles match win in Grand Slam events, trails only Fabio Fognini (71) among Italians in the Open Era.

Novak Djokovic crashed the party with a few records of his own. When he defeated Jamie Faria in the second round, he became the second player in the Open Era to reach 150 Grand Slam wins after turning 30. Serena Williams is the other. Djokovic will also make his 433rd appearance in a Grand Slam match when he faces Carlos Alcaraz for a place in the last four.

After defeating Czech teen Jiri Lehecka in the fourth round, Djokovic has joined Roger Federer in reaching the last eight of at least one Grand Slam singles event for 20 consecutive seasons.

Alcaraz is chasing a calendar Grand Slam. On 26 January, the date of the men’s singles final, the Spaniard will be 21 years and 266 days old. If he succeeds, he will be the youngest male player of all-time to achieve the career Grand Slam.

Only five other men have won the career Slam – Rod Laver, Andre Agassi, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal.

Djokovic has 98 match wins in Melbourne, leaving two short of a 100. Making the title round will see Djokovic reach the magic number. And winning the final will be his 100th tour-level title and a record-extending 11th Australian Open title. He will also have won his 25th Grand Slam trophy, one clear of Margaret Court.

The former World No. #1, currently at No. #7, will work his way back to the top five should he clinch the 2025 Australian Open trophy.

With Andy Murray in his corner, Djokovic will look to deliver a win in his favourite event and erase the memories of a lacklustre 2024 season.
