Will The Rock betray Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 40? Exploring the possibilities

The Road to WrestleMania 40 has been a roller coaster ride already as there were a number of twists and turns in the very beginning. Cody Rhodes, who won the 2024 Royal Rumble teased of sacrificing his spot to The Rock but claimed his spot then.

Rock who stood against Roman Reigns has now joined The Bloodline. With a number of twists and turns on the road, there has been a speculation that The Rock could turn on Roman Reigns. So here we explore some of the possibilities.

The Rock wants Roman Reigns

The Rock has been teasing having a match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania for a long time. It was reported to be a done deal, but a sudden turn in The Rock’s character seems suspicious. Rock & Roman are interested in the match however there isn’t any storyline built, so Rock turning on Roman at WrestleMania 40 could potentially build a storyline between them and possibly result in a match in the future, most possibly at WrestleMania 41.

Rock & Cody’s secret plan

Cody Rhodes before regretting his match with Roman Reigns on SmackDown said that he had heard advice from a special counsel, The Rock. Which seems like, The Rock betraying Roman after gaining his trust could be a part of their plan. The Rock would have made a deal with Cody to help him win the Universal title.

Rock teased it on SmackDown

Rock during the episode of SmackDown with The Bloodline said that he would use power to make sure that “you walk out of WrestleMania what you are, which is a loser” and pointed out Roman Reigns. Following that when The Bloodline pointed their ones to the top, The Rock signalled ‘L’, which fans predict to be teasing of making Roman Lose at Mania.

The Rock wants to be The Tribal Chief

Rock joined The Bloodline, however there isn’t any clue of who is the Tribal Chief now. This could develop an Ego clash between them on the road and make Rock turn on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Rock already spoke about being The Head of the Table at Raw Day 1. This hints that the betrayal is likely possible for the Tribal Chief/ Head of the Table status.
