Why WWE should introduce a mid-card title for the Women’s division?

There are only three titles for the Women’s division on the main roster
WWE is the official destination for the best-in-class wrestlers from all around the world. The company was once highly dependent on the Men’s roster, however, everything changed over time. Women’s rosters have evolved and they are proving to be equal potential to men’s rosters.
With the ever-rising women’s division, a mid-card title in the women’s division has been a talking point over time. Previously WWE Hall of Famer Booker T spoke about the idea of introducing a mid-card championship in the women’s division. Here are some of the reasons why WWE should introduce a mid-card title for the women’s division:
Huge Women’s roster
WWE Women’s roster is huge, where the number of female wrestlers is almost equal to that of male wrestlers. However, the men’s roster has more titles than the women’s roster.
This hinders the growth of other wrestlers, especially when the champions are at the prime of their careers. The ever-increasing women’s roster could be refreshed with a brand new mid-card women’s title.
Could solve lack of opportunities
The active women’s roster has a number of potential talents, but a lot of wrestlers are fading from television due to a lack of push and minimal championship opportunities.
Last year there was a huge criticism of the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, for not defending the title more often. However, a mid-card championship such as the Women’s United States Championship or Women’s Intercontinental Championship might solve the problem.
Could revolutionize the roster
A mid-card women’s title will be a revolution in the pro-wrestling industry, where the women wrestlers will get more Television time. Men’s rosters and Women’s rosters having an equal number of titles will be a big step in the boom of the new era. It could motivate a lot of women’s wrestlers to join WWE and make the company the biggest women’s roster in the world.
WWE NXT brought women’s mid-card title
WWE seems like they have begun the trial with the introduction of the first-ever mid-card title in WWE’s secondary brand NXT. Similar to the NXT North American Championship, NXT has brought the NXT Women’s North American Championship and the first ever mid-card women’s champion of WWE will be crowned at NXT Battleground on June 10, 2024.
It seems like we could potentially see a mid-card title in the main roster following the success of NXT’s midcard title. It feels like a trial run in the secondary brand to debut a mid-card title in the main roster.
