The 2024 Clash at the Castle is one of the must see Premium Live Events in recent times and it is filled with a number of great matches and moments. This is the first WWE PLE in Scotland and it carried huge anticipation with the involvement of Scottish Stars in big title bouts and statisfied the expectations. Undisputed WWE Championship ‘I Quit’ Match- Cody Rhodes (C) vs AJ Styles
The match begins with Cody Rhodes firing strikes against AJ Styles, taking initial control. Styles fights back, but Cody delivered a bionic elbow and drop kicked him out of the ring. Cody Rhodes laid the tables outside the ring and took AJ Styles to the audience side and the controller area.
Both returned to the ring, where Cody locked Styles with a Figure-4 in the middle of the ring, asking him to say ‘I Quit’. However Styles managed to escape the ring. Both went out where AJ slammed and delivered a brain buster over the announcement table, making Cody bust open.
As the momentum swung both the sides, AJ brought a chair, a Kendo stick and a leather belt to torture Cody and asking him to quit. Styles made Cody unconsicous, but the referee didn’t counted it as a win as the only way to win is saying, I Quit. Styles woke him up with a bottle of water and handcuffed him and blew brutal strikes with the stick and a chair. Styles went to trash talk on Cody’s mom, but Momma Rhodes slapped him.
Styles with the anger attacked Cody and wraps his Fore Arm with a steel chain and tried for the Phenomenal Fore Arm, but Cody threw a chair on him, making Styes fall on the table to break it. This made time for Cody to find the key for the handcuff and released himself from it. Styles is back to fight, but Cody countered his strike with a Cody Cutter and a Cross Rhodes.
Cody delivers the second Cross Rhodes and hit the third one on the chair. Cody stops referee from asking Styles. He handcuffs Styles to the ropes and torturing him with brutal strikes with the chair.
Styles refuses to quit and says, “Screw You Cody Rhodes”. Cody attacks his mid-section with the chair and took Steel Steps to attack AJ. Styles had enough and in fear said, “I Quit”. Although Styles said “I quit”, Cody attacked him with the Steel steps.
After the match, when Cody Rhodes was making his way to the ring, Solo Sikoa popped out and the Bloodline attacked Cody Rhodes. Randy Orton & Kevin Owens saved Cody from the Bloodline, sending them backstage.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match- Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill (C) vs Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark vs Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn
Isla Dawn, Shayna Baszler & Bianca Belair start the match, where Belair sent Dawn out and hit ten punches to the face of Baszler. Belair backdrops Baszler and delivers the Lion sault. All the other three members got tagged in and Jade Cargill is being targeted. Zoey and Alba tries to put Cargill down, but Jade over powers all. She put Fyre and Zoey on the opposite corner and hit a series of corner splash.
The challengers with a plan came to target Belair and Jade with two targeting Belair and the other two targeting Jade. Belair is sent shoulder first to the ring post and Jade is vertical suplexed outside the ring. After the double attack Baszler and Zoey took control of the match.
Shayna and Zoey with a back to back tag in took Belair and Dawn. Dawn fights back and tags Fyre in. Fyre is fire. She clears house with a DDT to Baszler, sends everyone out and hit a senton over Zoey and Shayna. Back in the ring, Fyre drop kicks Baszler. Dawn gets the tag in and everyone went for the top rope. Dawn took Shayna and Fyre with a powerbomb and Belair took Zoey with a Super-plex.
Jade got the tag and she botched when entering the ring. However recovered too soon and took everyone down. Jade powerbombs Zoey, but Shayna made Jade fade with the Kirifuda Clutch. Belair hit a Swantom bomb on them.
Belair took Fyre out with a spine buster. Jade and Dawn delivered their finisher on Shayna, but Dawn hit a suplex to Jade and pinned Baszler for the win. Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn are the New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Intercontinental Championship Match- Sami Zayn (C) vs Chad Gable
Both began brawling to the ropes and Chad Gable with a cheap shot gets booed. Sami locks Gable’s hand, but Gable counters with a headlock. Gable with a side takedown and Gable counters with an arm drag. Zayn went for a couple of arm through, Gable counters the third and tries for an Ankle lock. Sami reached the rope and Gable chopped him. Sami sent Gable out of the ring. He went on to discuss with Alpha Academy members.
Sami went to chase him and Gable sneaks in. Sami has some quick advises for Otis and enters the ring. Gable slaps Sami and a Sami slaps him twice. Gable locks his Ankle, but Sami has his hands on the ring. Gable targets Sami’s hand. Gable targets Sami’s injured arm and delivered a suplex, locking his hand on the back.
Gable extends his elbow, Sami fights back, but Gable pulled his hand over the ropes. Gable wants Otis to focus and not to hear the WWE fans screaming. Gable punishes Sami banging his head to the turnbuckle. Sami fights back and hit a couple of elbow strikes from the ropes. Sami with one hand trying to take Gable in control and sends him out of the ring.
Sami hit a springboard Moon-sault outside the ring. Back in the ring, Sami jumped from the top rope, but Gable hit a drop kick in the air. Gable tries for a German Suplex, but Sami hit him with Michinoku Driver. Gable counters the Blue Thunder bomb and power bombed him. Gable went for the top rope and hit a flying headbutt, but Sami kicks-out.
Gable delivered a couple of German Suplex and Sami hit a couple in exchange. Both goes round and round looking for a Suplex, but Sami delivered a Suplex turning him upside down. Both exchange series of hands and Gable locks him with the Cross face. Sami counters with a Cross-face and Gable found his way to lock Sami with the Ankle lock. Sami suffers in pain, but rolled him out.
Gable hammered Sami’s head and went outside the ring to take the Intercontinental Championship on his hands. Referee caught him and he handed it over to Maxxine. He distracts the referee and asked Maxxine to strike on Sami, but Maxxine refuses.
Gable yells Maxxine and Sami looks for a Helluva Kick. Gable moves and hit Sami with a German Suplex with the bridge, but Sami kicked-out. Gable went on to yell Maxxine and Otis has a stare down with Gable. Sami flies over the ropes and landed on Otis. Gable took advantage of the situation to hit a Moon sault and took him to the ring.
They again took the fight outside the ring, where Gable accidentally landed on Maxxine’s leg. Otis is angry on Gable, however Gable went to the ring and asked Otis to attack Sami. While Otis tried to strike, Maxxine shouted in pain. Otis instead of attacking Sami, carries Maxxine to the backstage.
Gable got distracted and this made Sami take advantage and hit the helluva kick to win the match. Sami Zayn retains the Intercontinental Championship. Gable is filled with anger. Sami signals that’s it. He gave enough chances for Gable.
WWE Women’s Championship Match- Bayley (C) vs Piper Niven
The match begin with both exchanging words and hands. Niven pushes Bayley and slams her. Bayley rolls out and Chelsea slapped her. Bayley tries to chase her, but Niven stopped her and delivered a headbutt. Back in the ring, Niven tries for a running cross-body, but Bayley moves out. Chelsea tried to grab Bayley’s leg, but Bayley stomped on her hand. She argues with the referee asking Bayley to address it, but Chelsea is sent out.
Bayley tried to use the momentum to roll down Niven, but she kicked-out. Niven headbutts Bayley, who tried to fights back. Niven squashes Bayley in the corner and clothesline her in the corner. Bayley finally managed to escape and tried banging her head to the turnbuckle, but Niven fought back and hit a vertical suplex on Bayley.
Niven is in total control of the match, she looks for a vertical suplex again in the middle of the ring, but Bayley countered with a DDT. Niven rolls out and Bayley followed her with a suicide dive. Niven soon regained the momentum and took Bayley to the ring, but Bayley kicked her on the head and delivered a knee drop and elbow strike from the middle rope. Bayley delivered a modified senton and an elbow drop from the top rope, but not enough to defeat Niven.
Niven hit a Manhandle Slam and a Senton, but Bayley kicked-out. Piper went for the ropes, but Bayley stopped her and delivered a Bayley-to-Belly Suplex from the middle rope. Chelsea again came to the ring with a Luchador Mask, but referee found it is Chelsea and asked her to leave. Bayley attacked Chelsea and Niven hit Bayley with a Piper Driver.
Bayley kicks-out and both took the fight outside the ring. Niven delivered a spinning slam on Bayley. Back in the ring between Bayley looking for a Rose plant and Niven looking for a Piper Driver, Bayley with a Crucifix Driver pinned Niven to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.
World Heavyweight Championship Match- Damian Priest (C) vs Drew McIntyre
Both locked their hands and Drew McIntyre pushed Damian Priest down and took him in control with a couple of clothesline and a flighted senton outside the ring. Priest pushed Drew to the ring post and to the barricade targeting the back. He took Drew to the ring and delivered a shoulder tackle. Drew stops Priest’s corner Splash and chops him in half. Priest tried to fight back, but Drew delivered a Spinebuster.
Priest with a overhead throw and a Falcon Arrow regains the control. Priest powers up and Drew counters, however Drew hit a Michinoku Driver to take control. Drew looks for a Future Shock DDT, but Priest rolls out. Drew followed him to bang his head over the announcement table and sends him through Prime Hydration Station.
When trying to enter the ring, Priest took Drew down and went for a top rope senton, but his leg accidentally caught between the ropes. Priest shoulder banged on the apron and Drew targeted priest’s leg. Drew however helped priest from the ropes, taking him to the ring, but Priest took Drew with a vicious Clothesline.
Priest looks for the South of Heaven Chokeslam, but Drew countered with the Future Shock DDT. Drew chops Pries and Priest hit him with a big-boot. Priest is limping, however managed to climb the ropes. Drew stops him looking for a White Noise, but Priest delivered a Razers Edge.
Both are on their knees, exchanging hands and standing on the foot on the process. The back to back hands turned into vicious right elbow. Drew hit a Glasgow kiss and Priest hit a series of Spinning kicks.
Drew took Pries down and he’s fired up. Drew looks for the Claymore, but Priest rolled out. Drew delivered a Glasgow Kiss outside the ring and delivered a claymore to break the barricade. Back inside the ring, Drew looks for another Claymore, but Priest hit him with the South of Heavens Chokeslam, but Drew kicked-out.
Priest takes Drew to the top rope and chops him. Priest hit a Hurricanrana on Drew from the top rope and Drew hit a Claymore on Priest. However Priest kicked-out. Priest threw Priest across the ring, chops him and looks for a overhead throw, but the referee is accidentally sent down.
Drew delivered a Claymore on Damian Priest, but no referees are active. A referee came to count the fall, but the referee didn’t count the third fall & the referee is revealed to be CM Punk. Drew tried to fight Punk, but Punk kicked him in the groin allowing Priest to hit the South of Heavens Chokeslam to retain the Championship.
