CM Punk made his shocking return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, making the entire pro-wrestling industry go crazy. Punk returned to WWE but since his return he was able to wrestle only one match and that match was in the Royal Rumble. During the match Punk tore his tricep muscle and took his time off from in-ring action. Although Punk is injured, he never fails to show-up on Television to entertain the fans.

CM Punk has been building his feud with Drew McIntyre, showing up to cut promos, working in the announcement team and more. Punk is being backstage most of the time, now a WWE veteran & Producer spoke about CM Punk’s behavior backstage & his experience working with him since his WWE return.

Gregory Helms on CM Punk’s return & working backstage

Gregory Shane Helms (aka The Hurricane), recently appeared on Behind The Turnbuckle for an interview with Jonathan “The Coach” Coachman & Tommy Carlucci. During the interview Helms was asked about CM Punk’s return to the company and his behavior backstage. To which Helms said that it was a bigger shock as he thought that he would never ever return, by his past actions. He then addressed working with him backstage by praising his behavior.

Shane Helms said,

“Punk was definitely the bigger shock, for sure. I didn’t think he was ever going to come back just because of the bad blood with past administrations and some of the stuff that was said online while he was gone. You also have to realize that we all say stupid stuff and get some anger. Maybe we were feeling that way at that time. There is definitely stuff I have said in the past and people are like, ‘Did you mean it?’ At the time, I did. I might not feel that way now, but that’s how you grow as a person.”

“In terms of Phil backstage, he’s been a pleasure since he’s been back. I didn’t have problems with him to begin with, so I’m not surprised he’s been a pleasure with me, but I haven’t heard anything bad, either.”

PWTorch previously reported that the sources said Punk was very nice, humble, in a good mood and positive all around. And some reported that he had to be, as he went on to experience a lot of negative things after his departure in 2014.
